The specific criteria, application requirements, and deadlines vary by scholarship. Please review the guidelines for each scholarship to determine your eligibility before applying. Transferred and Continue students who have not taken a class in the past 2 years and are AK residents.
What is the Scholarship Amount?
Eligible students receive:
$2,000 per year - Full-Time (enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits)
$1,000 per year - Part-Time (enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits)
The scholarship covers tuition costs only and is renewable up to $8,000 while maintaining satisfactory academic progress.

Morning Rotary Chris McVay Memorial Workforce Grant - OPEN
Non-Degree Seeking, High School, or College students
Grants are intended for short-term (less than one year) non-academic, workforce training programs, courses or workshops. Funds are for programs and training that are not eligible to be funded by traditional student financial assistance (i.e. FAFSA Pell Grant, student loans, scholarships, tribal funding, or other aid). CARES ACT Funding - Institutional Funding Allocation 2021 year
College
The University of Alaska Anchorage has received an institutional funding allocation of CARES Act funding from the U.S. Department of Education in the amount of $2,722,592.00 from CARES Act Section 18004(a)(1) and $275,424.00 from CARES Act Section 18004(a)(2).* As of the September 30th quarterly billing cycle, these funds have been used to provide reimbursements for tuition, housing, room and board, or other fee refunds.

The same Academic Works application will consider you for many scholarship opportunities in the University of Anchorage system and the scholarship foundations at Kodiak College. Kodiak College students need to fill out a supplemental application to be considered. *Students new to UAA (graduating high school seniors) do not need to fill out the scholarship application to be considered for an award.

Wiche Grant - Until funds are exhausted
College
Through the WICHE grant, there is internet assistance (monthly reimbursements) for Alaska Native and American Indian students only. There are also technology resources purchased through the grant that will be reserved for AN/AI students for the first couple weeks of the semester, then available to any student after that.

All military, spouses, and dependent students—including veterans—are recommended to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine if they qualify for additional funds for the school.
