SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION AND DEADLINES

What you can do over the holiday break and before school starts to avoid being overwhelmed with classes, college applications, scholarship packages, and overall deadlines.
Most of last year's scholarships will be available again during the spring semester with new 2024-2025 application deadlines. The specific criteria, application requirements, and deadlines may vary each year by scholarship. Please review the guidelines for each scholarship to determine your eligibility before applying. We encourage you to use last year's application to start preparing the required documents and essay responses for the next academic year scholarship 2024-2025. ​

Common Criteria Asked for Scholarship Packages:

Letters of Recommendation (1-3 is best and start asking for them NOW!)

Resume (for the person to write a more complete recommendation letter)

COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS
​
UAOnline Scholarship; is a simple three easy questions with only one application and many scholarships that could become available after the February 15 deadline. Use the Rubric to score high.

Deadline: May 1, 2024 complete Admission Application to a UAA program
Deadline: July 15, 2025 to Register for classes
Students: First-time-freshmen
Eligibility: Students must be admitted to a UAA program and can take at least 3 credits (one class online) to qualify. Students can attend both colleges and stay local while taking online distance classes and in person at Kodiak College. Meeting eligibility and deadlines students will continue to qualify for Seawolf Persist Scholarship for continuing semesters.

The scholarship season is now open for children of officers, enlisted, active duty reserve, or retired U.S. Coast Guard men and women. Applications can be submitted through March 15 with awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.

Military, Spouse, & Dependents
The U.S. Department of State’s Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides awards of $5,000 for undergraduate child dependents of active duty service members to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs.

Life Builders is a transitional housing program for young adults (aged 18 to 24). The program is designed to help support participants as they acquire the life skills necessary to transition to independent living and build a successful and self-sufficient future.

Students can apply for admissions, take a GAP year, and return the next year to be eligible.
